With a population of over 30,000 residents, more than 3,500 of whom are senior citizens, Burlingame is a wonderful location for families to raise a family and for the residents to enjoy nature. In 1908 The Burlingame Board of Trustees passed an ordinance that prohibited residents from injuring, cutting down or damaging any trees within the city limits. As a result of this 1908 ordinance, Burlingame is home to over 18,000 trees. Thanks to the large number of natural forestation surrounding the downtown area it is easy to understand why the residents of Burlingame love living there.

A majority of senior citizens that live in Burlingame would prefer to remain in their home as they age rather than have to move into any of the local independent or assisted living facilities.
